Trump Orders EPA Remove Its Webpage on Climate Change
Reuters is reporting that the Trump administration has ordered the Environmental Protection Agency remove mentions of climate change from its website.
The employees were notified by EPA officials on Tuesday that the administration had instructed EPA’s communications team to remove the website’s climate change page, which contains links to scientific global warming research.
The sources for the report, who asked not to be named since they weren’t authorized to speak to the media, said employees were scrambling to preserve information from the page, and convince Trump administration officials not to scrap everything there.
Moments after the inauguration Friday, the new whitehouse.gov site had eliminated all mention of former President Obama’s climate initiatives and replaced them with an “America First” energy plan.
“What the Trump administration is doing is extreme, and very troubling, especially when it comes to both the grant freeze and the public communications. Coupled with the administration’s disdain for science, there is serious reason for alarm,” said a former Obama EPA official.
At time of publication the apparent page in question was still up.
